Visitors to the new company building of TEWS Technologies GmbH, leading suppliers of highly specialised computer boards, in Pinneberg's Silicon Valley feel immediately at home. A contemporary, inviting and sustainable workspace has been created in the company's newly built headquarters. Spacious, open-plan office areas provide a modern look and a good atmosphere.
Osmo 2K Holz-Öl was used to protect and maintain the high-quality wooden flooring on the over-700-square-metre area.
TEWS Technologies GmbH is a private company with more than 50 years of experience in the development of highly specialised computer boards - its products are used for innovative medical technology and even on the international space station ISS. The new two-storey building with an area of around 1700 square metres was completed after a construction period of just one year. Emphasis was placed on an open, barrier-free floor plan, shared rooms and flexibly designed work areas. Sustainability played a major role here: the use of environmentally friendly materials helps to minimise the company's ecological footprint.
Quality at the highest level - the company, founded in 1973, demands this not only of its own developments, but also of the materials used in the building design. The company therefore made a conscious decision in favour of solid wood flooring: Wood does not give off any harmful emissions, promotes a healthy indoor climate and increases the well-being of employees. Wooden floors in offices and public buildings are exposed to a great deal of wear and tear on a daily basis. They must therefore not only impress with their attractive appearance, but also score highly in terms of resistance and health safety.
For optimum protection for the wooden surface of the Oak industrial edge parquet, Osmo 2K Holz-Öl was therefore chosen: the solvent-free 2-component oil based on natural oil offers reliable long-term protection and an optimum finish!
Osmo positioned itself as a reliable partner and skilfully demonstrated its expertise from over 140 years of know-how in dealing with wood as a raw material and more than 60 years of experience in the development and manufacture of innovative coating systems. The 2-component oil not only offers very high product quality and economical application, but also fast drying times and an extraordinary variety of colours. Osmo 2K Holz-Öl is a guarantee for perfect surfaces and is specially tailored to the needs of professional contractors.
Even a single application creates a lastingly beautiful, extremely durable and emission-tested surface that reliably withstands even the highest mechanical loads, such as those found in a busy office building. Thanks to the wide product coverage, it is possible to treat 40 to 50 square metres with just one litre of Osmo 2K Holz-Öl.
The application is both efficient and economical: after adding the hardener and carefully mixing the two components, the product is ready for immediate use, with a pot life of three to four hours. Precise partial quantities for smaller areas, such as the floor of the lift, which is also covered with industrial edge parquet in the reference object, can be prepared using the lid, which can be used as a measuring unit. The product is applied with Osmo Doppelblattspachtel trowel or Osmo Mikrofaserrolle roller from the Osmo accessories range and then buffed in with Osmo FloorXcenter or a single-disc machine.
Another advantage: thanks to the innovative binding technology, the emission-tested surface is ready for use again after just one day, making the product ideal for the use in the commercial interiors, in particular with sensitive deadlines. In addition, it offers enormous flexibility and individuality in terms of colour design - even in the standard version with ten coloured and one clear variant, which can be mixed with each other directly on site. 2K Holz-Öl is suitable for all parquet and wooden flooring in accordance with DIN 18356 as well as furniture surfaces and can also be used for almost all oily and resinous wood species.
