Do-it-yourself plant paradise
Design your garden with assembly instructions for a set of planter boxes
Planter boxes are a wonderful way to grow small trees or flowers. You can also combine several boxes and use them to create a small secluded plant paradise in the garden. A comfortable bench completes the ensemble, which can be placed anywhere in the garden. André Schwabe coated this do-it-yourself project with Osmo One Coat Only HSPlus. Get inspired!
André Schwabe is a wood enthusiast and an Osmo fan: "I love wood and Osmo products: There I can be sure that they are good for people and nature." Blogger, designer and DIY expert André Schwabe is convinced. Under the alias A.S. WOODWORKER©, he regularly shares creative projects online, for which he likes to use Osmo products. For example, also for these wonderful planter boxes and bench.
Garden bench
Buy a ready-made garden bench (possibly as a kit) or build one yourself. The wood should be untreated.
Detach the seat from the legs and coat them in the colours of your choice.
Osmo Einmal-Lasur HSPlus only needs one coat, so the bench is ready in just one day.
Square planter boxes
Determine the desired height and width of the boxes and have the wood cut to fit. Join the boards on the inside with a square timber.
Staple foil into the box so that the wood inside does not come into contact with water.
Coat the wood in the colour of your choice of Osmo Einmal-Lasur HSPlus with a brush or roller. Shown here: 9206 Light Oak.
Attach the top cover made of wood and the outer corner joints…
…and coat the wood surface, for example in an attractive contrasting colour. Shown here: 9205 Patina.
If you like, simply build several matching boxes at once.
Long planter boxes
Other shapes are also possible: vary the height and width. They are assembled in the same way as the square boxes.
Cut the cover to size and glue it in place. To fill the box with soil, the cover should be detachable.
Coat and protect the untreated wood in the colour of your choice.
